Frequently asked questions

IoT & connectivity — details.

Private or carrier network?
Both: private LoRaWAN, hybrids, LTE-M/NB-IoT, or satellite depending on coverage and governance. The choice follows coverage, cost, and control.
When to use MTN Satellite?
As soon as terrestrial coverage is absent, intermittent or insufficient for the mission: remote sites, long-range mobility, critical redundancy. We size the satellite link alone or as failover with cellular / LPWAN.
Radio security?
Encryption, key management, segmentation, and filtering from the gateway. Devices and gateways are part of the security perimeter.
Can we mix multiple radios?
Yes, it is common. A heterogeneous fleet is normalized at the IoT platform, including with a backup satellite link.
What about battery life?
The energy budget guides the protocol, duty cycle and transmission policy. We size with real scenarios.
